Happy New Year 2013 - Copic practise by lynseylew Happy New Year 2013 - Copic practise by lynseylew

Bit late with Seasons Greetings, so I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year for 2014! This year has been pretty horrible for me, so I'm looking forward to starting fresh : )
One of my close friends was generous enough to give me her entire collection of Copic markers (all 300+ of them!) and so I felt compelled to give them a little try out. I'll be honest, this is the first traditional piece of artwork I've done in years, and many times I almost gave up, but I'm glad I trudged on as I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. Working away from the computer also made me less compelled to make every detail perfect, and I think my traditional drawings look a lot more cartoony than I'd like them to be haha. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun. Even when I realised I'd drawn Ha-neul's hair the wrong way round... I still liked it, haha.

Colours in Copic markers, lineart in ballpoint, white details in acrylic paint and a teeny weenie paintbrush.
:bulletred: Stop! Please do not re-use, re-post or alter this artwork.

It is a lot of copic markers! And yet I seemed to use the same few colours in this piece, haha.

They're expensive here too, which is why I was so shocked when my friend gave me all of hers! I guess it was just very nice of her : )

Thanks for the comment! The skin colours scared me a bit at first as they go on quite bright, but they almost fade a little as the ink dries, so I could add more and get more tones used : )
